The need to work and communicate effectively with your colleagues has never been more important.

The old ‘management by power’ approach is disappearing. It’s being replaced by ‘management by influence’ and motivation. But how do you get on with everybody, and get the most out of your team?

Our Interpersonal Communications programme recognises fundamental truisms.

  • We’re not all the same. We all have different personalities
  • Interdependence of individuals and teams within the workplace is critical to success
  • Each of us brings different limitations to a team as well as different strengths

This programme helps us recognise what our limitations and strengths are. It looks at how we and others prefer to respond to situations. Then it introduces appropriate strategies for dealing effectively with interpersonal situations.

Now we’re well on the way to harness the potential of the team. You’ll find these strategies also work well in family and personal relationships too.


How we run the workshops

Like all our courses, Interpersonal Communication is presented in a stress-free way. The programme takes two days. Our programmes are tailored to meet the needs of our clients, so workshop duration can change to suit.


What you will learn

Typically, we first address the communication process. What makes communication effective/non-effective? Then we practise a range of communication skills.

The purpose is to develop positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients. So you’ll learn about-

  • Understanding ourselves and others better – and how to communicate effectively with different personality types
  • Understanding non-verbal communication
  • Active listening and questioning skills
  • Being positive and assertive
  • Dealing with conflict

Follow-up

You’ll leave the course with a new understanding of how you and others communicate. A few weeks later we’ll get back to you to see how you’re doing. And we’ll offer any further tips and support that might be useful to you.
